Angels

Angels

These were taken close to my home, early on a cold November morning. I have to thank Jenn, for being my angel, and my kids for actually wanting to do this. I had this idea for a long time. Only recently I made steps to actually put it into pictures. This is just a start. I have more ideas, for the black winged angel in the future… This is just the beginning… for now enjoy!

These were taken really with out thinking… this is my youngest, Sebastian. He was painting on his laptop, and I thought his facial expressions were priceless. Then again I am kind of biased in this department. No flash was used, just high iso, and steady hands :)Enjoy!

I thought that with the new year I will have some new pictures to show…. alas not yet. So keeping up with tradition, I will be going through some of the older, but as of yet, “unpublished” photos from last year. I hope you will forgive me. Also having -20C to -30C weather for all month of December, does not make me want to go out anywhere. So the camera is tucked away safely and waiting for a little warmth outside, so I can continue with the a couple of ideas/projects I started in November. In any case here are a couple of pictures where I was experimenting with red flash gels. I still don’t understand why a sheet of transparent color plastic is called a gel, but then again I haven’t been photographing with flashes long. Enjoy.

Another quirky photo. Yes this one was taken for a challenge over at DPChallenge. Artur and I went out to his favorite field to shoot for the challenge. Came out with a few interesting shots, but I thought this was the best of the bunch, and worthy of a mention on these pages. I like quirky, abstract photos, and it is a lot of fun taking them. Not a lot of post processing was done to it. Just basic black and white conversion, and added a little noise to whole image. Enjoy!

Just trying a night shot with the Cokin starburst filter. Shot from a bridge over a busy highway. Out in the distance the oil refineries were burning off some excess, I believe, that’s why the nice big starburst. Enjoy.

I had this idea for a while now. Wanted to capture different emotions while playing video games. Big thanks to my brother and my nephew for being great models for this series. This was shot with one off camera flash through a diffusing umbrella, then converted to b&w in Photoshop. Enjoy!
