Macro in Pink

Macro in Pink

It’s almost spring, but it will be a while yet, here on the Alberta prairies before we see anything blooming. Thus, I thought, a bit of color will do us all good!

Pink is not my favorite color normally, but when it is natural it is quite lovely. I use the term “pink” loosely here, without getting into detailed names for shades and variations ;D. Interestingly enough, it seems like a lot of wild plants around here bloom in shades of pink, mostly so it is easily found during spring and summer months. Now, however it is gone and we will have to wait a bit before seeing it again in nature.. Thus, I bid you to enjoy looking at these lovelies!

In My Garden

In My Garden

It has been a very long time since I have indulged in posting my macros. Not that I don’t create them. On the contrary, I have been shooting mostly macros recently. They are so good for the soul, especially when I have no time or opportunity to go outside the city. This summer, it is even more of a thing. I have been taking advantage of my patio garden and shooting the flowers very often. I have been lucky enough to be able to spend time with my camera in the mornings and use the, sometimes rare, sunshine. So here it is, this years patio garden. Enjoy!

Can’t Wait For Spring!

Can’t Wait For Spring!

It’s still winter on the prairies but there are signs that spring is around the corner. I have heard some geese flying by, the sun is nice and warm and snow is melting fast after a fall. I am looking forward to the spring colors. Over the years, I have been taking as many spring shots as possible, just to feast my eyes with the rich color and gorgeous light. During those first warm days I try to spend as much time outside as possible and it is not a big surprise, that I am taking my camera with me, as often as possible. It is a great time to shoot macros and close ups of flowering bushes and trees. Here is a few shots I have taken in previous years. It is a pleasure to look at them and know, that there is not that much time left before we all can see them outside again. Happy waiting ;D

Summer Macros

Summer Macros

It is macro time again! So happy to be able to take my camera for a couple of minutes here and there to capture some summer flowers or play with light and shadow to create some magical abstracts. It is such an enjoyable endeavor! Creative juices can’t help but flow easily, especially when opportunity to shoot is everywhere. Here is a little sampler of things I was photographing recently. I hope you will become inspired and do some of your own creative shooting soon ;D

Spring 2019

Spring 2019

The weather is not that great today. Some places in Alberta are getting snow. Here it is cold and rainy… I’m thinking a bit of spring beauty will do us all good, right?

I took these over the past several weeks, whenever I had a chance to take my camera with me. It is such a pleasure to have something colorful and pretty to photograph again 😀

Can’t Wait For Spring!

Can’t Wait For Spring!

I think, it’s time for some spring macros. Winters are long enough for me to be starved for some color about this time of year. That’s why, I always save some of my macros for February or March to work on. This gives me enough of a boost to survive till all this colorful stuff is readily available outdoors. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. There just isn’t anything more pleasing than fresh juicy colors of spring 😀
